5.2  Representing model elements

UML 2 starts with three concepts, object, action, and association.

Object: An object is used to represent some thing.

Action:  An action is used to represent something that happens.

Association:  An association is used to represent some structure.
It represents a structure that is present in the system or its environment
and not only in the model.
